CASE STUDY
"Judith, you are fantastic!
When I came to you with the 'hot flush' (ugh!) problem I didn't really think they would go away. They were giving me a shock every time they came on! In fact I was thinking "I'm going to rise above this and pretend it's not happening", and would test myself to not throw the blankets off when I was in bed.
I'd be in a sweat and try to make friends with the sweat. Ha ha! Then when I was giving someone advice about her presentation the next day I was horrified cos my face went all red when I was giving her some sensitive feedback. I'm sure she was thinking I was lying or I was embarrassed at having to discuss the subject, which could have made her feel uncomfortable.
Meanwhile, I was embarrassed at looking embarrassed!”
Poor Lynda! This situation is all too common and, frequently, it is a situation that many people become resigned to and assume that it is a ‘menopausal problem’ and they’re stuck with it!! Far from it!!
There are a number of symptoms that link themselves to menopause and one of them is hypoglycaemia.
Everybody is an individual and we all have individual symptoms and solutions… however, there is such a strong link between menopause and hypoglycaemia the two often go hand in hand.
When I was in my 20’s and 30’s (well before getting into this line of work) I used to suffer symptoms that we often associate with menopause. Oh great!!
The number of times – particularly at night – that I’d wake in a swimming pool of sweat!!
It wasn’t until I went to the UK (before getting into this line of work) and it was pointed out that I was displaying the classic signs and symptoms of Hypoglycaemia, that I started to put two and two together.
Oh – that’s why I was often running out of energy! That would explain the constant need to grab a bar of chocolate, crave the glasses of wine at night; devour the whole pack of biscuits and the pack of jelly babies!!
I’ll always remember, after recently arriving in England, the sound of the thud as a packet landed on the hall floor with the postman’s delivery, and then my delight when a Whittaker’s peanut slab was unwrapped to be devoured in double quick time!! My dear friend Rach knew I couldn’t manage the day without my ‘fix’!!!
So …getting back to Lynda’s experience…….
“Between getting the hypoglycaemia under control by eating low GI (glycaemic index) foods, taking the Flower Formula ‘Sugarbal’ pillules and taking the specific supplement my body indicated it needed (Vitamin B complex in my case), the hot flushes are completely gone!
It took about a day to halve the heat (so to speak!), about a week to be amazed at how they were going down, and about three or four weeks to completely disappear.
Isn't it funny how sometimes when you have something going wrong with you, you think that it's here to stay? I'm back to my normal self and feel fantastic! I'm pretty healthy anyway and already know to eat well and keep my blood sugar levels even, so it was hard for me to admit I was having menopause symptoms. Ego, I know!
I forgot to say that the best thing about coming to you is your positive attitude about health. It's completely unique. I LOVED the way you said to me that day "No problem Lynda, you'll be rid of these hot flushes in no time". Not many therapists have the guts to say that, and know that it's true.
Every time I have come to you I've come away completely uplifted, a spring in my step and feel I can take on the world.”

It’s very important to look at a person’s individual needs and not assume that, just because something worked for a friend (or even a friend of a friend), that it will be what is required to balance your body’s systems.
It actually works out much cheaper, and a darn sight less stressful for your body, to be tested for the solution!
I believe that relying just on supplements to sort out the situation is short-changing your opportunities to better health.
Hypoglycaemia is NOT the prerogative of women!!! I know of many men and many, many children who suffer from this condition….
When we (you & me) test your body we will most likely find that your emotional system, along with your electrical system, are both requiring support and, with this support, your body is in a far better position to sort itself out and function as it wants to function!!
Go Girl!! Bring the sweetness back into your life!
Huge thanks to Lynda who was generous and confident enough to speak up, to give confidence to you all!
Her wonderful way of creating an hilarious picture of sweat will help so many to take the next positive step towards freedom!
…………. make it happen!
